Cosmicomic Toyscape is an artwork comprising a series of toys inspired from the scientific odyssey, ‘Cosmicomics’ by Italo Calvino. This projects consists of collective works by a group of enthusiastic readers to produce 6 life size toys, based and extracted from 6 different stories from the novel. The intention of the toys is inspire possibility and provide an exciting introduction to science from common interpretations of the text book. The toys would not only convey stories from cosmicomics but it would also convey scientific concepts such as movement, probability and colour formation in a manner that can be enjoyable and appreciated by a younger audience.

All 6 toyscapes were been installed and exhibited in Georgetown, Penang and Kuala Lumpur to showcase an extremely creative view based on science and technology knowledge. Youngs and children are interest to see and explore the mystery process and the wonderful outcome by each toy.

A series of reading and sharing session by the readers to share their idea pick up from the book among each other. The session turns into idea exploration with creative idea come out from the teams.

The teams are recruited and make the toyscapes come true in a living scale. Each team focusing on own toyscape and test up the limit of the play.

When you push the piston at one end (meaning you leave a mark), the air pressure will push the colored liquid to the other end, and the piston at that end will protrude (change the mark of others). Rubber rings are also provided on site, so that everyone can freely tie them to different syringes. Also, as the two ends are pushed alternately, the position of the rubber rings will always change.

A drawing machine based on the harmonic spectrum system principle (harmonograph system), in which two sets of triangular structures represent the earth and the moon respectively, and they are connected to the third triangular structure to display the mutual gravitational force between the two in a pictorial manner. Adjust the weight by the number of stones put in, the heavier the weight, the stronger the pulling force and the longer the drawing line.

The two "color trees" are composed of mass-produced monochromatic bricks based on basic colors, but through different bricks with your eyes, the surrounding environment will be filtered into different colors. The 3D glasses hanging on the wall can be worn freely. The glasses have two filters, red and blue. Blue will change the color of the color tree, and red will make a certain color of the color tree disappear.

When you turn a specific gear, it will push other gears and its drawing mechanism, the position of the pencil can be adjusted on the gear, and the irregular drawing lines presented symbolize "you are drawing your own galaxy". The large disc in the middle symbolizes the center of the universe, and the principle of magnetic field allows two invisible magnetic points to keep chasing with the rotation of the gears.

The marble version of the roller coaster, when you turn the pulley next to it, the marble will be sent to a high place and start to fall freely along the track. The route is divided into three stages: fixed route - branch random route - fixed route. And the marbles will make different sounds when they pass through parts made of different materials.

With the information tower as the center, wires connect from the three outer towers to the center. When you rotate the tire of your bicycle (sending a message), the light bulb in the center will light up (the message is sent), and the effort and number of rotations in it represent the distance and time of a light-year.
